Two guys, making noise... But wait, there's more. It goes like this: One of them starts a track, and then, through the power of the internet, sends the song to the other. The other is free to do whatever he likes with the track. No Rules. Want to keep it 4/4 and make it dancey? Fine. Want to make it a noise polka, except replace the tuba with a sample of a machine gun? Sure, why not. Whenever person #2 is done defacing the song, they then send it back to the originator, and Mr. Originator is then free to do whatever he likes with the track. This back and forth, or systole and diastole in this case, happens until they both agree, "This is perfect". Because of the scope and openess of this project, there is no one genre that S-V-D fits into. Noise, Glitch, IDM, Industrial, Drum N' Bass, Funk, Ambient, Surf, you name it, they've probably covered it in one sense or another. |
